Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross<\/a> Marks 84 Years of Service and Humanitarian Impact<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross Society (ABRCS)<\/a> is celebrating its 84th anniversary, marking more than eight decades of service, compassion<\/a>, and resilience <\/a>to the people of Antigua and Barbuda<\/a>.<\/p>

In a message to commemorate the milestone, President Dr. J. Humphreys paid tribute to the organization\u2019s volunteers, describing them as \u201cthe first on the scene and the last to leave\u201d during crises ranging from hurricanes and floods to fires, pandemics, and personal emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Humphreys said the ABRCS continues to stand as \u201ca pillar of hope and resilience,\u201d built on the founding vision of compassion, courage, and community. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

He commended volunteers for their \u201cdedication, sacrifice, and courage,\u201d noting that their efforts have made an immeasurable difference in the lives of those they serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond emergency response, the Red Cross has broadened its work through youth training, health education, disaster preparedness, and climate resilience initiatives. <\/p>

The organization\u2019s community outreach and mobile health programs, Dr. Humphreys said, are strengthening local capacity and ensuring that no one is left behind.<\/p>

He described volunteers as \u201cthe lifeblood of the organization,\u201d embodying the core Red Cross principles of kindness in action, courage in adversity, and selfless dedication to others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs we celebrate this milestone, let it also be a moment to look forward,\u201d Dr. Humphreys wrote, acknowledging the growing challenges faced by humanitarian groups. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYet I am confident that with your continued dedication, the Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross Society will meet these challenges with resilience, innovation, and unwavering humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The president expressed gratitude for the service of all members and reaffirmed the organization\u2019s commitment to bringing hope, comfort, and life-saving support to communities across the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
