The Bill updates Section 18 of the Electronic Crimes Act, 2013<\/em>, which governs the use of Production Orders \u2014 legal directives that allow investigators to obtain electronic evidence in cyber-related cases. The amendments clarify the procedures for issuing and serving these orders, specify how information must be provided, and enhance data protection safeguards to prevent misuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also introduces tougher penalties for non-compliance, holding both individuals and organizations to stricter standards of cooperation during lawful investigations.<\/p>
