A man shot in the chest during an attempted robbery in the Cooks area early Saturday remains hospitalized in stable condition, authorities said.<\/p>

Police said the victim was walking to the market shortly after 4 a.m. when a masked gunman demanded money and opened fire, striking him in the chest. The assailant fled on foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emergency Medical Services transported the victim around 4:20 a.m. to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he is under observation, medical sources said.<\/p>
