Retired High Court Judge Stanley John is returning to Antigua and Barbuda to serve as an acting judge on the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court.<\/p>

The Judicial and Legal Services Commission said Justice John will be assigned to Antigua from Oct. 4 through Dec. 22, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John previously served in Antigua from 2019 to 2022 and most recently acted as a High Court judge in the Virgin Islands.<\/p>

His return follows the departure of Justice Tunde Bakre, who served on the Antigua bench for less than two years. Bakre, a Nigerian-born jurist sworn in on Sept. 29, 2023, presided over several notable cases, including Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s first judge-alone murder trial.<\/p>
