NOTICE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC<\/strong> RESTART OF DERELICT VEHICLE REMOVAL AND COMMUNITY RODENT BAITING<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA<\/a>) wishes to inform all citizens and residents that the Derelict Vehicle Removal<\/a> Program will resume operations on October 13th 2025, under the National Clean-up and Beautification Initiative.<\/p>

The Collaboration will have several agencies to include Antigua and Barbuda Defense Force (ABDF)<\/a>, Traffic Police, Central Board of Health (CBH)<\/a>, Ministry of Works, and Community Division.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to the start date CBH will start baiting for rodents from Grid 1 which spans Dickenson Bay Street across to Fort Road down to Fort James.<\/p>

This program is part of our ongoing effort to maintain the safety, cleanliness, and aesthetic of our communities. Derelict or abandoned vehicles not only pose safety hazards but also detract from the visual appearance of our neighborhoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Litter Control and Prevention Ac, No. 3 of 2019, Section 13 (1), it states that \u201cWhere any derelict vehicle is left in any public place in such circumstances as to cause, contribute to or tend to the defacement of the environment by reason of the presence of such derelict vehicle, the local authority may give notice to the owner or last known owner of the derelict vehicle requiring him to remove the derelict vehicle from the public place within twenty-four hours of such notice.\u201d<\/p>
