We continue to highlight the gaps in healthcare coverage including mental wellness initiatives and outpatient services which can foster an environment of healing in Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While we acknowledge Prime Minister Gaston Browne\u2019s recommitment to advancing the national mental health framework, it is critical that those living with mental illnesses have access to lifesaving care and treatment.<\/p>

Reiterating our statements during World Suicide Prevention Month in September, it is important that communities across the country familiarize themselves with warning signs to assist our loved ones in time of need to alleviate feelings of distress, loneliness and helplessness.<\/p>

We also call on our local media to utilize best-practice when reporting on suicide, crafting stories that prioritise empathy and compassion while rejecting all forms of sensationalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WISH remains steadfast in its advocacy for mental wellbeing and gives gratitude to its partners and supporters – locally, regionally and internationally.<\/p>
