Prime Minister Gaston Browne says the government will increase the nation\u2019s water production by an additional two million gallons per day as part of efforts to strengthen the country\u2019s water infrastructure and ensure reliable year-round supply.<\/p>

Speaking on the Browne and Browne Show<\/em> on Pointe FM, Browne said the expansion will come from new and upgraded reverse osmosis (RO) plants, including facilities at Barnacle Point<\/strong> and Bethesda<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re adding another two million gallons of water per day,\u201d Browne said. \u201cWe\u2019ve already solved the problem of water shortage \u2014 what we\u2019re doing now is building redundancy to make sure the system stays reliable.\u201d<\/p>

The prime minister said the government\u2019s goal is to move beyond simply meeting demand and instead establish a system capable of maintaining steady production even during plant maintenance or drought conditions.<\/p>

\u201cWe\u2019re not just meeting demand \u2014 we\u2019re getting ahead of it,\u201d Browne said. \u201cThe aim is to have enough water so that even if one plant goes down, there\u2019s no disruption.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Browne said the investment reflects the administration\u2019s broader focus on national infrastructure resilience, noting that the water programme complements ongoing work to improve roads, electricity supply, and public facilities.<\/p>
