PM Browne Open to Partnering on Nightclub in Barbuda to Boost Social Life<\/strong><\/p>

Prime Minister Gaston Browne says he is willing to partner with a Barbudan investor to open a nightclub on the sister island, describing it as a way to improve social options and encourage local enterprise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf there\u2019s a Barbuda who wants to partner with me to put a nightclub in Barbuda, I will do it,\u201d Browne said on the Browne and Browne Show<\/em>.<\/p>

He first floated the idea himself, joking that he might personally launch a venue. \u201cI\u2019m wondering if I shouldn\u2019t go and open up a nice, beautiful nightclub, the Cassidgette Club in Barbuda,\u201d he said.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Browne said more leisure and entertainment businesses are needed to complement the island\u2019s recent development projects, which include the new airport and road upgrades. \u201cThe social life is almost non-existent,\u201d he said. \u201cThey need a little cinema, even if it\u2019s a little rudimentary one.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also invited private investors to take part in the island\u2019s next phase of growth. \u201cIf we can get a few people to invest in a few social projects \u2014 when I say social, entertainment and leisure projects,\u201d Browne said.<\/p>

The comments came as Browne discussed wider opportunities for Barbudans to engage in business ventures tied to tourism and community life. The prime minister said new recreational spaces could support local employment and give residents more to do as Barbuda\u2019s economy expands.<\/p>\n
