The Calvin Ayre Foundation (CAF) will invest $500,000 over five years in Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s women\u2019s football, officials announced at a joint press conference on 2 October.<\/p>

The announcement was made alongside the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) at the Everton Gonsalves Conference Room. Ms Jamilla Kirwan, manager of the CAF, said the foundation\u2019s support would make it the title sponsor of the Women\u2019s Premier League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investment is thought to be the largest single private-sector contribution to women\u2019s football in the Caribbean outside of Jamaica and Trinidad.<\/p>

The Women\u2019s Premier League is set to kick off on Sunday, 5 October, at the ABFA Technical Center with a double-header, starting at 16:00 local time.<\/p>
