Officials failed to address health concerns at Antigua State College months after a report was submitted by the Central Board of Health.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The school will form part of the UWI Campus which officials hope to will be the fourth landed campus in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Health Inspector, Sharon Martin told state media a health inspection conducted at the Golden Grove Campus last November revealed \u201cInfestations with rodents, termites, ants and mosquitoes\u201d.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen we did the assessment of the buildings, we found they were in a state of disrepair\u201d, she said.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Principal, Hyram Forde reportedly saw the report but did not implement the recommendations to address the issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather, the college simply forwarded the document to the Ministry of Education.<\/p>

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education Science and Technology, Rosa Greenaway said the report was sent to her with a note saying, \u201cPlease find for\u2026 your kind attention and necessary action, a report received from the Central Board of Health regarding the Antigua State College\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat necessary action am I to take as a Permanent Secretary, with you a management at the Antigua State College?\u201d, she asked.<\/p>

The unaddressed health issues eventually led to recent industrial action at the institution.<\/p>
