A 29-year-old man was reprimanded and discharged after pleading guilty to stealing two bottles of rum from Perry Bay Supermarket.<\/p>

Koeic Francis of Swetes Village admitted to taking two bottles of Cavalier Antigua Gold Rum worth a total of $63.90 on September 26. A security guard spotted the theft, and Francis was later arrested after returning the next day and repeating the act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acting Chief Magistrate Dexter Wason noted Francis had only recently been released from prison after nine months on remand for a similar charge. The court heard that Francis, who lives with relatives and is unemployed, has not been receiving treatment despite a professional evaluation.<\/p>

Several people in court pleaded for leniency, and Wason ultimately opted for compassion, warning Francis he could not continue down the same path. Francis promised not to reoffend. A restitution order was issued for the alcohol.<\/p>
