PAHO<\/strong>)<\/em> \u2013 Health authorities from across the Americas approved a new Plan of Action on Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs) <\/a>Prevention and Control 2025\u20132030 during the 62nd Directing Council of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plan marks a critical step toward addressing the Region\u2019s leading cause of death and disability.<\/p>

The initiative aims to accelerate the implementation of measures to reduce the burden of NCDs and improve the quality of life for millions of people affected by cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, and chronic respiratory diseases\u2014through the strengthening of primary health care systems.<\/p>

\u201cThe adoption of this plan is a key step toward transforming how we tackle NCDs in the Americas,\u201d said Dr. Anselm Hennis, Director of PAHO\u2019s <\/a>Department of Noncommunicable Diseases and Mental Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
