The UWI Five Islands Campus Receives Continuing Registration Status from ABNAB<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The University of the West Indies (UWI) Five Islands Campus<\/a> has been granted continuing registration status by the Antigua and Barbuda National Accreditation Board (ABNAB)<\/a>, the country’s highest accreditation authority, following successful completion of the re-registration process.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The campus, which was established in 2019, received its certificate of re-registration from ABNAB in September 2025 and is now registered to operate until 2027.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This mandatory registration confirms that the institution has met or exceeded the minimum standards required for all post-secondary institutions operating in Antigua and Barbuda<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Principal of the Five Islands Campus, Professor C. Justin Robinson<\/a>, emphasized the institution’s commitment to maintaining The UWI’s reputation for academic excellence. <\/p>

“As the campus continues to grow, we intend to maintain and build on the quality standards as a campus in the wider UWI system,” he \u00a0stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Robinson highlighted the campus’s unique positioning as a modern institution serving today’s students. <\/p>

“The Five Islands Campus has the competitive advantage of being a campus established in the digital age for the digital natives while maintaining the UWI quality standards.”<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The principal expressed gratitude to the campus team for their dedication throughout the rigorous re-registration process, particularly acknowledging Campus Registrar Dr. Camille Samuel for her leadership and the team’s diligence and hard work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the handing over of the certificate, Campus Registrar, Dr. Camille Samuel, noted the re-registration came in the period following the COVID-19 pandemic and that there were more rigorous standards to be met as the institution was now back to its full face-to face modality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The campus worked hard in a post-pandemic environment to ensure that the highest standards were met\u00a0 for students and staff as we work to uphold and exceed the national standards.” said Dr. Samuel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Antigua and Barbuda National Accreditation Board congratulated The UWI Five Islands Campus on this achievement, noting that “this milestone marks a significant step forward in our commitment to promoting quality in Higher Education in Antigua & Barbuda.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the fifth campus of The UWI system, the Five Islands Campus continues to uphold the institution’s hallmark of access to high-quality education while serving the educational needs of Antigua and Barbuda and the wider OECS region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UWI Five Islands, established in 2019 as the fifth campus of The University of the West Indies, represents a significant milestone in Caribbean higher education. Located in the beautiful twin-island nation of Antigua and Barbuda, this dynamic institution brings world-class education to the heart of the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of The University of the West Indies system, which has been consistently ranked among the best universities in the world by the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE), The UWI Five Islands upholds the same standards of academic excellence that have made The UWI a beacon of educational achievement in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campus offers a comprehensive range of  over 40 degree programs spanning both undergraduate and postgraduate levels across four schools: School of Humanities and Education, School of Business and Management, School of Health and Behavioural Sciences, School of Science, Computing and Artificial Intelligence.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
