It\u2019s been a busy and productive week for Antigua and Barbuda at the United Nations General Assembly.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Besides the high level discussions, the Government has been deepening its relationship with countries across the globe including on the African continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week the Government formalized three separate visa waiver agreements with the Republic of Ghana, the Republic of Kenya, and the Republic of Benin, in ceremonies held on the margins of the 80th Session of the UNGA.<\/p>

The agreements were signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs the Hon. E.P. Chet Greene on behalf of Antigua and Barbuda with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ghana His Excellency Samuel Ablawka, Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Kenya His Excellency Dr. Musalia Mudavadi and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Benin His Excellency Olushegun Adjadi Bakar signing on behalf of their respective countries.<\/p>

The Minister extended a formal invitation to Ghana, Kenya, and Benin to participate in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), which Antigua and Barbuda will proudly host in 2026. The meeting will be an opportunity to advance collaboration across the Commonwealth, with small states and Global South priorities at the centre of the agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister Greene welcomed the agreements noting the shared history and common purpose between the Caribbean and Africa.<\/p>
