The United Progressive Party (UPP) will host a town-hall meeting next Tuesday to address rising concerns over crime and government accountability in Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>

The meeting, set for September 30 at Freedom Hall on Lower Newgate Street<\/strong>, will begin at 7 p.m. and feature a panel led by Deputy Political Leader and criminal defense attorney Hon. Sherfield Bowen<\/strong>, alongside financial consultant Kem Warner<\/strong> and former Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda member Nuffield Burnett<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the party, the session will focus on what it describes as an \u201cupsurge in crime\u201d and \u201cmismanagement of state funds.\u201d In a statement ahead of the event, UPP said citizens are \u201cfed up\u201d with violent crime, extrajudicial killings, and what it views as inadequate responses from the government. The party also criticized a lack of transparency in public spending and alleged breaches of financial laws by officials.<\/p>
