The Enforcement Directorate has started the extradition process for Mehul Choksi, Nirav Modi’s maternal uncle, and co-accused in the Rs 13,500 cr Punjab National Bank scam. Choksi, owner of the Gitanjali group that deals in Jewellery, fled the country after the scam surfaced. <\/p>

Earlier this year, Choksi surrendered his Indian passport to the High Commission in Guyana, and took up the citizenship of Antigua & Barbuda, a country in the Caribbean Sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had met with Foreign Minister of Antigua & Barbuda on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly last year and had raised the matter.<\/p>
