The meeting, which took place in Dubai, brought together Adnan Kazim, Deputy President & Chief Commercial Officer; Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, Divisional Senior Vice President of International Affairs; and Thierry Aucoc, Senior Vice President Commercial Operations for West Europe and the Americas. <\/p>

According to both sides, discussions centred on the strategic value of Antigua and Barbuda as a gateway to the Eastern Caribbean. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation outlined the country\u2019s growing profile as a tourism and business hub, as well as its strong connectivity potential for travellers originating from the Gulf region and beyond.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

The talks focused on expanding connectivity between the Caribbean and the Middle East, strengthening tourism, trade, and cultural ties, while exploring the growing demand for luxury long-haul travel from the Gulf region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials also noted that direct air links could facilitate investment flows, enhance regional tourism synergies, and create new opportunities for Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s hospitality sector.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Both parties agreed to continue their discussions, with Emirates reaffirming its interest in assessing the viability of Antigua and Barbuda as a future route.<\/p>

Ambassador Theon Ali welcomed the dialogue as a step forward in deepening the bilateral relationship between Antigua and Barbuda and the United Arab Emirates, underscoring the government\u2019s commitment to broadening international connectivity for the nation.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The talks come at a time when aviation leaders are gathered for the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) Conference, where global connectivity and sustainable air transport are central themes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials noted that adding Antigua and Barbuda to Emirates\u2019 route map would align with ICAO\u2019s emphasis on strengthening international access for small island states and emerging markets.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While no timeline has been announced, both parties confirmed that dialogue will continue, with Emirates conducting route viability assessments in line with its broader network strategy.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Industry observers say that if realized, the move could position Emirates as one of the first Gulf carriers to operate scheduled services into the Eastern Caribbean, a development with significant implications for tourism, trade, and investment flows.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
