The ABLP is under attack from within, not by the Opposition, but by the toxic culture of jealousy that has taken root under Gaston Browne\u2019s leadership. Instead of building unity, Gaston lashes out at comrades who dare to grow popular or independent.<\/p>

The disgraceful public attack on party chairman Chet Greene by Gaston\u2019s mouthpiece, Troy Allen, is a shameful example. But the root of it all is jealousy. WTP Radio, owned by Chairman<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Greene, is now more popular, more credible, and more widely listened to than PointeFM.<\/strong> Instead of embracing this as a strength for the Party, Gaston sees it as a personal threat.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

History warns us where this road leads. Right here in Antigua, Sir George Walter, a giant of PLM, saw his leadership unravel when personal rivalries and arrogance blinded him to the unity of the Party. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In Dominica, Patrick John was brought down by his own suspicion of his comrades, and in Grenada, Eric Gairy\u2019s arrogance and vindictiveness turned the people against him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Globally, History teaches us that such vindictiveness is the undoing of leaders. When Caesar surrounded himself with flatterers and punished those who grew too popular, the daggers of Brutus and others found him. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

When leaders elevate personal pride above collective progress, their downfall is inevitable, because the people always tire of arrogance and abuse. When jealousy overrides reason, downfall is inevitable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Labourites must understand that silence is no longer an option. Cabinet members and senior figures who watch this toxicity unfold and say nothing are complicit. If we allow the ABLP to become hostage to one man\u2019s insecurities, the people will turn away from the party, and history will judge us harshly as was reflected in the death of the PLM.<\/p>

The ABLP belongs to the people. It must always reflect their collective will, not the jealousies of any single leader. If we do not restore unity, respect, and fairness now, his jealousy will not only destroy comrades, it will destroy the great ABLP.<\/strong><\/p>
