Former Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer has called for a “cleansing” of the police force, citing what he described as troubling behavioural patterns that demand urgent intervention.<\/p>

Mr Spencer made the remarks on Friday outside Police Headquarters on American Road, where he joined relatives and supporters of Khaleel Simon \u2014 the young man fatally shot by police in Bolans several weeks ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the Simon family postponed their official protest until 3pm on Monday, a small group of residents gathered earlier in the day, carrying placards and chanting slogans that expressed frustration over alleged excessive use of force by law enforcement officers.<\/p>

Speaking to reporters, Mr Spencer said the fatal shooting of Simon reflected deeper, systemic issues within the police force and underscored the need for comprehensive reform.<\/p>
