Antigua Girls\u2019 High School Graduate Nelisha Mirage Named Top Matriculant at UWI Five Islands<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Antiguan scholar Nelisha Mirage, a graduate of the Antigua Girls\u2019 High School, has been named the top matriculant for 2025 at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Five Islands Campus.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mirage, who excelled academically from an early age, was formally recognised during the university\u2019s matriculation ceremony, where she signed the register on behalf of the incoming class. The honour is reserved each year for the student entering with the highest academic performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Antigua Girls\u2019 High School, Mirage achieved 12 grade ones and a grade two at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations. She was consistently named to the principal\u2019s list and the honour roll, and served as a prefect known for her discipline and leadership.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

She continued her studies at Antigua State College, pursuing an associate degree in natural sciences with concentrations in chemistry, biology, physics, and applied mathematics. True to form, she excelled across all disciplines before earning her place in UWI\u2019s pharmacy programme.<\/p>

Beyond her academic record, Mirage has been noted for her advocacy and community spirit. While still at school, she founded a humane society for animals \u2014 an initiative that reflected her determination to create meaningful change. Administrators expect her to establish a similar club on campus, continuing her blend of scholarship and service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Campus Registrar Dr Camille Samuel described her as \u201ca young scholar of remarkable discipline and determination,\u201d adding that she would leave a lasting mark on the Five Islands Campus.<\/p>

Mirage\u2019s selection as top matriculant highlights not only her own achievements but also her role as a representative of her peers. Her signing of the register was described as a pledge to uphold the ideals of academic excellence and leadership within the UWI community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her journey \u2014 from excelling in secondary and college-level studies to embarking on a professional degree in pharmacy \u2014 was hailed as an example of resilience and purpose.<\/p>
