Disturbance midway between the Cabo Verde Islands and the Lesser Antilles has a 90% chance of becoming a tropical depression or storm within the next 2 days<\/strong><\/p>

The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service (ABMS) has reported that a disturbance in the central Atlantic is highly likely to develop into a tropical depression or storm by Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The system, identified as AL92<\/strong>, is located about halfway between the Cabo Verde Islands and the Lesser Antilles. It is producing showers and thunderstorms, with forecasters warning that conditions remain favourable for strengthening as the disturbance moves west-northwest to northwest at 10\u201315 mph.<\/p>

ABMS has given the system a 90% chance of formation within 48 hours and seven days<\/strong>, marking it as a high-risk area for development.<\/p>

Meanwhile, a second disturbance further east, a tropical wave southeast of the Cabo Verde Islands, is producing disorganised showers. That system has a low 10% chance of development in the next two days and 20% within a week<\/strong> as it tracks westward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forecasters are urging residents in the Caribbean to remain alert and follow official advisories as the peak of the hurricane season continues.<\/p>
