Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s Foreign Affairs Minister, E.P. Chet Greene, has paid tribute to the People\u2019s Republic of China on its 76th anniversary, highlighting the strength of the bilateral partnership and Beijing\u2019s role in supporting the twin-island state\u2019s development.<\/p>

Speaking at the anniversary celebration, Mr Greene described China\u2019s modern history as one of \u201cresilience, transformation, and unprecedented progress.\u201d He praised the country\u2019s success in lifting hundreds of millions out of poverty, driving technological innovation, and establishing itself as a global leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cChina\u2019s story is not merely one of internal development. It is a story increasingly intertwined with a shared vision for humanity\u2014one of mutual respect, win-win cooperation, and global peace and prosperity,\u201d he said.<\/p>

The minister pointed to decades of cooperation between Antigua and Barbuda and China, citing landmark projects such as the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium, the new terminal at V.C. Bird International Airport, and collaboration in agriculture, healthcare, and education. He said Chinese support had been \u201ccrucial\u201d to the country\u2019s development agenda.<\/p>

\u201cOur relationship is a shining example of how a major global power can work in sincere partnership with a small island developing state on the principles of equality and shared benefit,\u201d Mr Greene added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He closed by congratulating China on more than seven decades of achievement and extending best wishes for continued success under President Xi Jinping and the Communist Party of China.<\/p>
