Prime Minister Gaston Browne has condemned United Progressive Party (UPP) figures for discouraging attendance at the recent National Day of Prayer<\/strong>, calling the move divisive.<\/p>

Speaking on the Browne and Browne Show, Mr Browne said the event was intended as a unifying occasion to \u201cgive thanks and praise\u201d and criticised the opposition for treating it as partisan. He added that opposition chairman D. Gisele Isaac had urged members not to participate, even though there was no formal party directiveBrowne and Browne Show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prime Minister linked the discouragement to what he described as \u201chardcore hatred\u201d<\/strong> among UPP supporters, which he argued is self-destructive. He urged politicians to focus on policy-based debate rather than vilification.<\/p>

Recalling his own decade in opposition, Mr Browne said he never allowed personal attacks to stop him from maintaining relationships with rivals. He warned that unchecked hostility could inflame tensions and harm the country\u2019s stability.<\/p>

Framing love, unity and faith<\/strong> as antidotes to political polarisation, the Prime Minister appealed for a softening of rhetoric across the political divide. \u201cWe must fight hard for our country,\u201d he said, \u201cbut we should never hate.\u201d<\/p>\n
