Barnes, owner of Charlie\u2019s Gas Station on Sir Sydney Walling Highway, was shot outside his Ottos home late on Friday. Police said armed assailants fired at him in the chest before fleeing in a vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tributes have poured in from residents, business leaders and officials mourning the loss of a respected figure. Authorities have launched a high-level investigation and are urging anyone with information to contact the Criminal Investigations Department.<\/p>
