Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s fight against mosquito-borne diseases has been strengthened with the completion of specialized entomology training for health officials. Over two weeks, staff from the CBH Vector Control Laboratory, Public Health Inspectors, and the Epidemiology Team tested local mosquitoes for insecticide resistance. Larvae of Culex and Aedes species were collected, reared, and exposed to current insecticides. Results showed no resistance, confirming the effectiveness of existing control measures. This assurance allows the continuation of efforts to combat dengue, Zika, and chikungunya. The training also equipped local staff to conduct resistance testing independently, boosting future surveillance. The Ministry thanked Dr. Alex Wright and PAHO for their support.<\/p>
