(CMC) \u2014 A Jamaica woman was sentenced in federal court earlier this week for illegally re-entering the United States after deportation.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

When Tanya James, 53, appeared in court on Wednesday, she was sentenced to six months in prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In July, James pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful re-entry of a deported alien. She was indicted by a federal grand jury in June.<\/p>

In 2003, she was convicted of possession of cocaine base with intent to distribute and distribution of cocaine base.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

She was ordered removed from the US and deported to Jamaica in 2004.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2011, James was again ordered removed from the US and deported to Jamaica in 2012. However, she re-entered the country, and in March last year, James was charged with motor vehicle offences.<\/p>

On or about May 12 this year, she was taken into custody by immigration officials after she was found to be in the United States without having received permission to re-enter.<\/p>\n
