Antigua and Barbuda <\/a>has marked what officials are calling a \u201chistoric milestone\u201d with the launch of its first aquaculture and fisheries<\/a> training seminar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Agriculture Minister Anthony Smith Jr. <\/a>said the programme, developed with support from China for Shared Future<\/em> and the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center, aims to modernise fish farming, strengthen marine development, and promote smarter management practices.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Smith described the initiative as central to the twin-island state\u2019s efforts to boost resilience, safeguard food security, and create new economic opportunities.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis project is about more than training\u2014it\u2019s about resilience, food security, and creating opportunities for our people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The minister added that China\u2019s continued partnership would be vital in advancing sustainable practices and strengthening Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s <\/a>blue economy.<\/p>
