The Ministry of Works says it has begun issuing overtime payments to the Quarry workers as of today. <\/p>

The ministry<\/g> says the delay in payments on Wednesday was as a result of bureaucratic delays but all workers including truck drivers have received payments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Ministry of Works has been working closely with the Ministry of Finance and th0e Treasury Department to bring these overtime payments up to date.” <\/p>

Permanent Secretary Mr. Clarence Pilgrim said the\nMinistry is very mindful of the plight of the workers, particularly those in\nthe quarries thus steps are being taken to ensure that overtime payments are\nmet with some degree of regularity.<\/p>

According to Pilgrim, payments will be made in stages.\n<\/p>\n
