Antigua and Barbuda has seen a 4% increase in stayover arrivals during the first half of 2025, according to the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA).<\/p>

ABTA CEO Colin C. James said the country welcomed 183,945 visitors between January and June, up from the previous year. \u201cNumbers up to the half of the year still show strong growth,\u201d he told ABS News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the United States remains the leading source market, arrivals from Latin America surged by 195%, rising from 170 visitors in the same period last year to 502 this year. Regional tourism also showed strong gains, with Trinidad and Tobago emerging as a key contributor. Mr. James noted that Antigua and Barbuda has overtaken St Lucia as the top Caribbean destination for Trinidadian visitors, a trend evident during the recent Carnival period.<\/p>

Looking ahead, Mr. James expressed optimism for the second half of the year. \u201cBased on all projections that we have seen for Carnival, we\u2019re looking forward to a strong start for the second half of the year,\u201d he said, adding that tourism teams in major source markets are working to ensure continued growth in arrivals and revenue.<\/p>
