The Government of Antigua and Barbuda, in collaboration with the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), is proud to host the Health Emergency Strategic Operations Planning (HESOP-CMS) Workshop from August 25\u201329, 2025 at the Jolly Beach Resort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The five-day workshop brings together a technical working group with representatives from Antigua and Barbuda, Haiti, Grenada, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Participants will work closely to establish best practices and identify key considerations for the development, drafting, and implementation of strategic and operational plans for public health emergencies, using a whole-of-system approach.<\/p>

A brief commencement ceremony was held earlier today marking the official opening of the week\u2019s proceedings. The program will span five days and will cover a range of topics essential to building regional resilience in health emergency management.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Day one will introduce participants to the HESOP-CMS frameworks, while day two will focus on risk assessment, preparedness, and strategic planning approaches. Day three will feature discussions on operational response, command structures, and simulation exercises, followed by day four, which will examine opportunities to strengthen regional collaboration and the application of whole-of-system strategies. On the final day, participants will concentrate on drafting national roadmaps, review outcomes, and bring the workshop to a close with a brief ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sessions are being facilitated by a team of technical experts from CARPHA, supported by members of the UK Public Health Rapid Support Team and other regional partners.<\/p>
