Antigua Trades and Labour Union Pays Tribute to Former Labour Commissioner Hesketh Williams<\/strong><\/p>

The Antigua Trades and Labour Union (AT&LU) has expressed its condolences following the death of former Labour Commissioner Hesketh Williams, describing him as a man of exceptional intellect and lasting influence in industrial relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement issued on Friday, AT&LU President Bernard de Nully said the union\u2019s Executive Committee, staff and membership extend their \u201cdeepest and sincere condolences\u201d to Williams\u2019 family and friends.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is indeed a difficult time but may the consolation of the positive and precious memories of him strengthen you all in time to come,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Williams was recognised for his \u201csterling contribution\u201d to Antigua and Barbuda in the field of industrial relations. The union noted his \u201cwealth of knowledge, balanced judgement and an intellect among the best,\u201d adding that his legacy will endure for decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quoting the biblical passage John 16:22, de Nully urged those mourning to find comfort in the promise of reunion and lasting joy: \u201cNow is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

Williams is remembered as a respected figure whose work and wisdom shaped labour relations in the nation. The union concluded its tribute with the words: \u201cMay he rest in perpetual peace.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
