The Commissioner of the\nNational Parks Authority (NPA) Mrs. Anne-Marie Martin has expressed delight\nthat the Nelson\u2019s Dockyard has earned yet another important award. <\/p>

The Nelson\u2019s Dockyard was\nvoted by travel writers and the public as the Caribbean\u2019s best attraction in a\nrecent online poll run by the prestigious media outlet USA Today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martin has praised the\ntireless efforts of the entire team at the National Park for ensuring that the\nDockyard continues to remain a shining example of historical preservation\nthroughout the Caribbean. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

She is also crediting the\ndiligent efforts of the NPA board and the contributing support of private\nsector partners for their unflinching dedication to the Nelson\u2019s Dockyard and\nits heritage assets.<\/p>

\u201cI must also say a huge thank\nyou to the writers who got the Dockyard nominated and the many persons from far\nand wide who voted. This is just more inspiration for us to continue to do our\nvery best in showcasing a very special place in Antigua and Barbuda to the rest\nof the world,\u201d Mrs. Martin beamed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2016 the Naval Dockyard\nand its related Archaeological sites was named a World Heritage Site by the\nUnited Nations. <\/p>

Mrs. Martin says her team is\ncommitted to continuing playing a crucial role in positioning Antigua and\nBarbuda as a world class destination for today\u2019s traveler and an important tool\nfor research and learning for all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe combination of our\nmarine facilities, exciting nature trails and the remarkable centuries\u2019 old\nbuildings make the Nelson\u2019s Dockyard an extraordinary place to visit and we are\nextremely proud of that,\u201d Mrs. Martin further added. <\/p>
