Murder Charges Dropped Against Millette and Bailey Following Appeal Court Ruling<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Antigua and Barbuda<\/a><\/strong> Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has withdrawn murder charges against Jason Millette and Shalom Bailey in connection with the 2017 killing of Xavier Thomas in Cedar Grove.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Millette and Bailey were jointly charged with Dorian Marshall, whose conviction for the same offence was quashed last week by the Court of Appeal. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The court ruled that the evidence presented during Marshall\u2019s trial was insufficient to support a guilty verdict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result, the appeal judges overturned Marshall\u2019s 40-year prison sentence and barred any future retrial. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In the wake of that decision, the DPP filed a nolle prosequi in the cases against Millette and Bailey, effectively bringing the prosecution to an end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
