Five in Police Custody for Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Ammunition, and Cannabis<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

St. John\u2019s, Antigua and Barbuda, Wednesday 9 July 2025<\/p>

Five people are in police custody, following a series of stop-and-search operations conducted across several communities on Tuesday 8 July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around 7:00 p.m., police arrested four male suspects, all residents of Villa, for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm <\/a><\/strong>and several rounds of Ammunition.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In a separate but related incident, a male resident of Ottos was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

All items, including the firearm<\/a><\/strong>, ammunition, and cannabis, were taken to police station as part of the ongoing investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda continues to intensify its efforts to rid the streets of illegal firearms, ammunition, and narcotics. These operations form part of the Force\u2019s broader strategy to enhance public safety and maintain law and order throughout the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The public is once again reminded of the importance of cooperating with the police and providing information that can assist in the fight against crime. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or Crime Stoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
