POLICE INVESTIGATE FATAL TRAFFIC ACCIDENT ON SIR GEORGE WALTER HIGHWAY<\/em><\/p>

St. John\u2019s, Antigua and Barbuda \u2014 Sunday, 29 June 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The police are continuing investigations into a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Sir George Walter Highway in the vicinity of Romeo Plumbing.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The incident took place around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, involving a white Toyota Vellfire minivan driven by a 40-year-old male of New Winthorpes, and a pedestrian, identified as 58-year-old Kendrick Hughes of Light Foot West.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The allegations are that the driver was travelling from south to north on Sir George Walter Highway, and upon passing a parked truck on the western side of the highway, the vehicle came in contact with the pedestrian.<\/p>

Emergency Medical Services shortly arrived at the scene; however, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead at 10:46 p.m.<\/p>

The Police Administration extends sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the late Kendrick Hughes during this difficult time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
