Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s Prices and Consumer Affairs Division is warning parents to stop using Little Remedies<\/a>\u00ae Honey Cough Syrup<\/strong>, which has been recalled due to bacterial contamination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The manufacturer, Medtech Products Inc., pulled five batches after detecting Bacillus cereus<\/em>, a bacteria that can cause serious illness or even death in severe cases. The affected syrup has been on shelves since December 2022.<\/p>

Parents should check for UPC code 7-56184-10737-9<\/strong> on 4 FL OZ<\/strong> amber bottles. The recalled batches are 0039, 0545, 0640, 0450, and 1198<\/strong>, with expiry dates from November 2025 to December 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>

Symptoms of infection include nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps and diarrhoea, sometimes appearing within hours of use. Health officials urge parents whose children show symptoms to seek immediate medical care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consumers are advised to return the syrup to the place of purchase for a full refund and not to use it under any circumstances.<\/p>

The recall applies only to this specific cough syrup and does not affect other Little Remedies<\/a>\u00ae<\/strong> products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
