The Minister of Education, the Honourable Daryll Mathew<\/a><\/strong>, has directed senior\u00a0 officials within the Ministry of Education to engage directly with the management\u00a0 of St. Andrews School in response to the recently announced closure of the\u00a0 institution.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister Mathew<\/a><\/strong> has also held preliminary discussions with Prime Minister\u00a0 Gaston Browne to assess the implications of the closure on students, faculty, and\u00a0 the broader educational landscape, as well as explore proactive solutions.\u00a0<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Minister Mathew emphasized the government’s firm commitment to protecting the\u00a0 interests of all affected stakeholders.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe recognize the deep disruption this\u00a0 development may cause for students, parents, and educators alike. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a\u00a0 Government, we are determined to pursue every viable avenue to ensure that no\u00a0 child is left behind and that every teacher is supported during this transition,\u201d he\u00a0 stated.\u00a0<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Minister Mathew added, \u201cOur aim is to maintain continuity in education and\u00a0 preserve the learning environment for the students currently enrolled at St.\u00a0 Andrews. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the conditions allow, one option could be integrating the facility,\u00a0 students, and teachers into the public school system. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Of course, this would be\u00a0 subject to the willingness of the school\u2019s current owners to sell, and the successful\u00a0 completion of the necessary due diligence by government authorities.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>

The Ministry will provide further updates as discussions progress and concrete\u00a0 decisions are made. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Minister of Education is currently overseas on official\u00a0 government business and remains actively engaged in efforts to address the\u00a0 situation.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
