100 Homes Planned for Belmont to Address ‘Pressing Demand for Housing’<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda has approved the construction of 100 homes in the Belmont area as part of its ongoing efforts to expand access to affordable housing<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>

The project, announced during the latest Cabinet briefing, was designated a high-priority development in response to what officials described as a \u201cpressing demand for housing,\u201d with thousands of applications submitted to the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHAPA) and the National Housing <\/a><\/strong>Development and Urban Renewal Company.<\/p>

The Cabinet has instructed the Ministers responsible for Housing, Works, and Urban Development to collaborate closely with the parliamentary representative for the area, Attorney General Steadroy Benjamin, to expedite the implementation of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director General of Communications Maurice Merchant confirmed that legal drafting has already begun to support the acquisition of land for the development.<\/p>
