CABINET NOTES:<\/strong> The\u00a0 Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda<\/a><\/strong> welcomes the ruling issued today by the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, which fully quashed all subpoenas initiated by Yulia Guryeva-Motlokhov\u2014daughter of a sanctioned Russian national and former owner of the super-yacht\u00a0Alfa Nero<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The subpoenas, directed at Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne, members of his family, senior government officials, and various private entities, have been decisively set aside by the Court.<\/p>

  1. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    In a comprehensive Memorandum Opinion and Order, Judge Jesse M. Furman found that the applicant had \u201cfailed to meet the statutory requirements for relief\u201d under 28 U.S.C. \u00a7 1782. Consequently, the Court has:<\/p>

    \"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    \u00b7         Quashed the subpoenas in their entirety;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u00b7         Vacated its prior ex parte order authorizing the subpoenas; and<\/p>

    \"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    \u00b7         Instructed the applicant\u2019s legal counsel to arrange for the immediate destruction of any material already obtained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Prime Minister Browne and the Cabinet have consistently asserted that this legal action\u2014pursued with the support of senior opposition figures\u2014was nothing more than a politically motivated fishing expedition, aimed at undermining the integrity of the Prime Minister, his family, and senior public servants.<\/p>

    The Government of Antigua and Barbuda<\/a><\/strong> reaffirms its unwavering commitment to transparency, the rule of law, and the highest standards of public accountability.<\/p>
