A young man has been remanded for psychiatric evaluation<\/a><\/strong> following threats made against his grandmother and reports of disturbing behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He appeared in St John\u2019s Magistrates\u2019 Court before Acting Chief Magistrate Dexter Wason, facing charges of malicious damage after allegedly smashing a van window.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

According to the grandmother, the man brandished a cleaver and threatened to kill her, prompting her to seek help from another grandson. Tearful and distressed, she described her grandson as \u201crude and disrespectful\u201d and said he regularly ignored her guidance.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

During the hearing, the accused displayed a nervous twitch and denied the allegations, claiming his grandmother was not telling the truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magistrate Wason, noting concerns for the young man\u2019s mental health, ordered a psychiatric assessment and remanded him to His Majesty\u2019s Prison.<\/p>

The grandmother told the court she feared for her life and did not want him to return to her home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
