Foreign Minister E.P. Chet Greene has called on the Americas to renew their commitment to democracy and social justice, warning of \u201cgrowing instability\u201d across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an ABS interview , Greene said this month\u2019s OAS <\/a><\/strong>General Assembly in Antigua and Barbuda would take place against a backdrop of rising inequality, political division, and external interference.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToo many citizens feel left out of the democratic dividend,\u201d Greene warned. \u201cWe must reaffirm that democracy is not just elections, but inclusion, accountability, and peace.\u201d<\/p>

He highlighted the war in Ukraine, tensions in the Middle East, and economic pressures from global powers as external factors that demand collective resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur hemisphere must resist being pawns in great power rivalries. We must find our own voice and values,\u201d he said.<\/p>

Greene hopes the OAS <\/a><\/strong>gathering will produce actionable commitments to governance reform, gender equity, and youth empowerment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
