REAL NEWS ANTIGUA<\/strong>: In a powerful show of solidarity with public-school educators, Emanuel Peters<\/a><\/strong>, the United Progressive Party\u2019s Caretaker for St. John\u2019s Rural South, is stepping up to recognize the hard work and dedication of teachers in his constituency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday, May 30, Peters will host a special appreciation luncheon for the teachers of Ottos Comprehensive School, Golden Grove Primary, and Mary E. Pigott Primary. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The catered meal, complete with dessert, is Peters\u2019 way of saying \u201cthank you\u201d to those on the frontlines of shaping the nation\u2019s future.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur teachers are among the most important pillars of this country,\u201d Peters <\/a><\/strong>states. \u201cYet, time and again, they are overlooked and underappreciated\u2014especially by this Administration, whose recent actions have shown blatant disrespect to both educators and their union.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peters makes it clear: the event is more than just a meal. It is a statement.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is a small but meaningful gesture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our teachers have endured a difficult third term, and they continue to give their all under trying conditions. What I\u2019m doing is just a token of my deep appreciation\u2014but it also sends a message. We see you, we value you, and we stand with you.\u201d<\/p>

As both a businessman and political representative, Peters says he and the United Progressive Party firmly believe that education is the foundation of national development.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTeachers don\u2019t just deliver lessons\u2014they provide emotional support, model positive behaviour, and often fill the gaps left by struggling families and strained communities,\u201d he says. \u201cThey are mentors, motivators, and moulders of the next generation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peters concludes with conviction: \u201cOur teachers are this country\u2019s greatest resource. We must treat them with the dignity and fairness they deserve. I\u2019m proud to do my part\u2014and I won\u2019t stop speaking up for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
