The allegations are that during the robbery at the property at Mill Reef Club<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 an exclusive east coast community \u2014 the accused were said to have tied up and robbed three residents of a quantity of valuable items and cash.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The property at the Mill Reef Club<\/a><\/strong> is reportedly owned by James and Elizabeth Lewis, a married couple in their 70s. The Lewises were entertaining a friend on the day of the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports, the three friends were conversing under a cabana near the pool around 10 pm when they were allegedly approached by three masked men who were armed with knives and wearing gloves.<\/p>

The robbers reportedly restrained the victims from behind and bound their hands and mouths with duct tape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the items stolen from the three victims were a black-handled chef\u2019s knife, iPhones, iPods, jewellery valued at US $10,000, and a curling iron. The men also allegedly took over US $1,100 in cash.<\/p>

Before leaving, the perpetrators locked the complainants in a bedroom. However, they were able to free themselves and report the incident to the police immediately.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

An investigation was subsequently launched which led to the three accused being arrested and charged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trial date has been set for a man accused of robbing three elderly people at the Mill Reef Club more than three years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marlon Carr of Fort Road will return to court on November 24 to stand trial for aggravated robbery, an offence which occurred on April 6, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carr was jointly charged with two other men \u2014 Rickardo Bussawan of Villa who pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated robbery and was sentenced to three concurrent eight-year sentences \u2014 and Delon Wills, who has denied the allegation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
