Left-hander Moeen Ali was pulling England out of trouble with an unbeaten half-century at tea after West Indies made early inroads in the second session on the opening day of the second Test here Thursday.<\/p>

Moeen\u2019s bold 55 not out formed the basis of the visitors\u2019 revival as they reached 172 for six at the interval, at the Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was partnered by wicketkeeper Ben Foakes unbeaten on 32, the pair having shared a 77-run, unbroken seventh wicket stand to pull their side around from 93 for six.<\/p>

Three overs later, Ben Stokes failed to survive a hostile spell from speedster Shannon Gabriel and nicked a catch behind to wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich for 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moeen then survived an uncertain start before blossoming to race to his 14th Test half-century off 69 deliveries.<\/p>
