King Charles III is reportedly planning a visit to Antigua and Barbuda<\/a><\/strong> early next year to attend the 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), according to reports by Express<\/em> and The News<\/em>.<\/p>

Both media outlets state that the monarch, accompanied by Queen Camilla, is eyeing the Caribbean nation as a potential destination for his next official overseas engagement as Head of the Commonwealth. <\/p>

While dates for the summit have yet to be confirmed, Express<\/em> reports that organisers are aiming to host leaders from across the 56-member organisation in the first half of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her weekly column Emily in Palace<\/em>, Express<\/em> Royal Editor Emily Ferguson wrote: \u201cWith the King and Queen\u2019s tour of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh in doubt due to tensions in the region, I can reveal the royal couple have their sights set on Antigua and Barbuda.\u201d<\/p>

According to The News<\/em>, King Charles has expressed a strong desire to participate in the 28th CHOGM as part of his continuing commitment to the Commonwealth, following in the footsteps of his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHis Majesty wants to continue his mother\u2019s legacy and show his commitment to the Commonwealth,\u201d a royal source reportedly told both outlets.<\/p>

It would mark his second CHOGM as monarch, following his attendance at the 2022 summit in Samoa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
