POLICE ISSUE CAUTION TO VEHICLE OWNERS<\/p>\n\n\n\n

St. John\u2019s, Antigua and Barbuda \u2014 Wednesday, May 14, 2025<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Police Administration is concerned about the increasing number of vehicle thefts<\/a><\/strong> reported in recent times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This criminal act not only threatens public safety but also highlights the importance of motorists adopting safer security practices. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Investigations have also revealed that in several instances, vehicles were left unattended with engines running, a practice that the police continuously discourage among drivers.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Motorists are therefore urged to take the following precautions to further minimize the risk of vehicle theft<\/a><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ensure that you switch off your engine and remove the keys from the ignition when exiting your vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ensure all doors and windows are securely locked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avoid leaving valuable items inside your vehicle in plain view of the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Always park in secure and well-lit areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The police remain committed to investigating these incidents and bringing the perpetrators to justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyone with information that can assist the police in their investigations is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or 462-3914, or call the anonymous Crimestoppers hotline at 800-TIPS (8477).
