The government is reviewing legislation to improve safety at public events involving large trucks, following the death of a woman during Labour Day celebrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prime Minister Gaston Browne announced the move after 45-year-old Allissa Chiddick<\/a><\/strong> died on 5 May when she fell under a trailer truck during a street parade near Millaz Beach Bar on Fort Road.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Chiddick<\/a><\/strong>, from Martin\u2019s Village, was pronounced dead at the scene after reportedly trying to board the moving vehicle.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis unfortunate event has overshadowed the celebrations and underscores the fundamental need for the protection of our citizens,\u201d Mr Browne said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that new measures would be explored to ensure safer conditions during mass gatherings such as Carnival.<\/p>
