Re: The Government\u2019s Disregard for Real Educational Standards<\/strong><\/p>

Dear Editor, <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The government<\/a><\/em><\/strong> continues to push the narrative that teachers do not care about the welfare of our children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet, glaring contradictions in their own policies and actions suggest otherwise. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

If this administration truly cared, why are they actively lowering the academic standards of our students?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In private institutions, students are held to a clear academic and behavioral standard.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

There is a strong emphasis on performance, presentation, and discipline.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In stark contrast, many of our government <\/a><\/strong>school students are more concerned with brand-name shoes and $400 bags\u2014bags that are too often empty of books or essential supplies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teachers struggle daily to get students to bring basic materials such as lab books or writing supplies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These requests are often ignored for an entire term\u2014or worse, an entire school year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And when educators attempt to hold students accountable, they are labeled as wicked or inconsiderate. Is this the environment we want for our future leaders?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The laptops issued through government programs are riddled with defects. A known manufacturing flaw causes the screen edges to crack, eventually rendering them useless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With these laptops damaged and books no longer routinely provided by the Board of Education, students are left stranded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reliance on the One-Learn platform and virtual copies shared via Google Classroom assumes that all students have consistent access to technology, which simply isn\u2019t the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This technology gap forces teachers to print countless materials, leading to overworked and often malfunctioning school printers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The burden falls yet again on educators who are already stretched thin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even transportation is failing our children. School buses are often gone within 2 to 5 minutes of dismissal, leaving children behind with no regard for their safety. Where is the accountability?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now, the government has quietly lowered the national average to 50%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is this an honest acknowledgment of a decline in academic performance\u2014or is it a deliberate dumbing down of our population to make future generations easier to manipulate?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do we explain students entering secondary school unable to read beyond a Grade 3 level? If our leaders truly care about the welfare of our children, then raise the standards\u2014raise them boldy- so they may answer to duty’s call! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the end a country\u2019s strength is in the minds of its people. If we are not educating them properly, we are failing them entirely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
