A new season of beauty, community spirit, and national pride is upon us, as<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

registration officially opens for the 2025 Community Gardens and Beautification<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Festival. Hosted by the Community Development and Citizens Engagement Division<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

under the Ministry of Social and Urban Transformation, this beloved national initiative<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

continues to unite citizens around a shared mission: to build a cleaner, greener, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

more connected Antigua and Barbuda.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What began in 1951 as the Homes, Families and Gardens Festival was reintroduced in<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2008 under the bold and hopeful theme, \u201cThink Beautification for the Nation\u2019s Health<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and Wealth.\u201d Today, under its refreshed name, the Community Gardens and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beautification Festival is more than a competition\u2014it\u2019s a movement of empowerment,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

civic pride, and resilience. It\u2019s a joyful invitation to citizens from all walks of life to nurture<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the land, their communities, and one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Festival with Deep Roots and Fresh Growth<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Festival celebrates the power of gardening, creativity, and cultural heritage in<\/p>\n\n\n\n

shaping vibrant, resilient communities. Through hands-on planting, historical<\/p>\n\n\n\n

storytelling, and poetic expression, participants uplift their neighborhoods while<\/p>\n\n\n\n

deepening their connection to the land and their collective history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s competition features three major components:The Garden Competition, The<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poetry and Research Competition, and the Poetry in Motion, a vibrant new category<\/p>\n\n\n\n

designed for ages 7\u201310, 11\u201315, and 16\u201320, encouraging youth to share their voice<\/p>\n\n\n\n

through performance poetry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Growing Knowledge: Free Workshops for All<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To empower participants with practical skills and environmental wisdom, the<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Festival offers free educational workshops throughout May. Whether you\u2019re a novice or<\/p>\n\n\n\n

an experienced gardener, these sessions provide essential tools for sustainable and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

rewarding cultivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
