Local Caribbean paint manufacturer, Harris Paints made history at the AMPP Annual Conference & Expo in Nashville, Tennessee, being awarded with the prestigious Master Painters Institute (MPI)<\/a><\/strong> 2025 Commitment Champion Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the first and only company outside of North Americas to receive this global honour, the award recognizes Harris Paints\u2019 dedication to promoting global quality standards through the use of MPI <\/a><\/strong>systems, including rigorous product testing and continuing professional development training \u2014 hallmarks of excellence in the coatings industry.<\/p>

MPI is the leading independent third-party organization in North America setting performance standards for commercially available paints and coatings.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Adopted by both U.S. and Canadian governments, MPI supports manufacturers, contractors, and asset owners to ensure long-term performance, reduce risk, and elevate application standards globally. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MPI is a part of AMPP, the Association for Materials Protection and Performance, a global community of professionals dedicated to materials protection through the advancement of corrosion control and protective coatings.<\/p>

The award was presented by Alan Thomas, CEO of AMPP, and Juan Caballero, AMPP Chair 2025, to Harris Paints\u2019 representative, Marvin Fletcher, an MPI Accredited Coatings Technologist who leads the Retail and Trade Sales teams for Harris\u2019s subsidiary BH Paints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Fletcher, who travelled from Jamaica to receive the tribute on behalf of the company, reflected that  \u201cFor a Caribbean company, being recognized with an international award alongside global paint brands is indeed an honour, and a testament to the quality and performance of our products and our commitment to exceeding international performance benchmarks\u201d.<\/p>

Since entering the program last year, six Harris Paints products have earned listing on MPI\u2019s coveted Approved Products List, and the company also invested in MPI\u2019s educational program to continue to drive technical expertise and skills across its teams. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Harris now has over a dozen MPI Accredited Coatings Technologists, which constitutes the largest group of independently trained paint experts in the Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harris Paints distributes products in 16 countries across the region including Latin America and plans to continue its partnership with MPI and to further expand its list of internationally recognized MPI approved products in the year ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
